Walk Together. Grow Together. Stay Rooted.
You don't have to grow alone. Whether you recently accepted Jesus, are completing ROOTED, are returning to your faith, or simply want someone to encourage you, a Faith Mentor can walk alongside you.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11
What a Faith Mentor does
- Pray with and for their mentee
- Encourage regular Bible reading and prayer
- Discuss lessons from ROOTED and other Faithful Seeds resources
- Help a new believer understand basic Christian beliefs
- Listen without judgment
- Help identify practical next steps
- Encourage baptism when appropriate
- Encourage connection with a healthy local church
- Help locate Bible studies or Christian community
- Celebrate spiritual growth
- Encourage service and sharing one's testimony
- Refer to Faithful Seeds resources when needs exceed the mentor's role
Mentors walk beside people. They don't run people's lives.
What a Faith Mentor is not
- A pastor (unless independently serving in that role)
- A licensed counselor or therapist
- A medical professional
- An attorney or financial advisor
- A case manager or crisis professional
- A romantic relationship or dating connection
A mentor will never say “God told me you need to…” — instead: “Let's look at what Scripture says and pray about it together.”
The 12-Week Faith Mentor Journey
Weeks 1–4
ROOTS
Relationship with Jesus, prayer, the Bible, questions.
Weeks 5–8
GROWTH
Identity, obedience, relationships, challenges, purpose.
Weeks 9–12
FRUIT
Church, service, testimony, sharing faith, next steps.
At week 12, you and your mentor decide together: complete, extend another 12 weeks, move into church discipleship, join a Bible study, or begin serving.
Your conversations are private — with important exceptions
Faith Mentors respect the privacy of the people they mentor, but they cannot promise absolute confidentiality. Situations involving immediate danger, abuse or neglect, threats of serious harm, or other circumstances requiring intervention must be escalated according to Faithful Seeds policy and applicable law.
The Faith Mentor Program is for adults 18 and older. Every match is personally reviewed by the Faithful Seeds team, and every participant has a direct line to our leadership.
